In Sharks Class we have been doing some Super Science and learning how to prevent harmful germs and bacteria from spreading, which involved getting covered in flour! We had so much fun.
To top it off, Miss Marshall shared her lesson plan with a friend working in South Africa so that the children there could enjoy the lesson too! The class from Tanzania did the same lesson on the same day as us here in England. One lesson, two continents, many smiling children!
Sharks class had an amazing day out at St. Anne’s Beach on Monday. The weather was on our side as we flew the kites we made in DT, built sandcastles, played beach games and much more! We received an extremely positive response from some members of the public about the nature of our trip and the outstanding behaviour of the children. What a fantastic day!
Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who came to our Gruffalo stay and play morning. The children enjoyed doing the Gruffalo hunt and making their Gruffalo masks. We hope you all have a lovely half term holiday!
Our After School Club Halloween Disco was lots of fun. The children enjoyed taking part in the Halloween games and winning lots of prizes!
We had a great journey through Space.
Lions class had a very enjoyable trip related to their World War 1 topic and work on War Horse. We visited Fulwood Barracks, where we learned drill, were conscripted to the army and looked at uniforms. We then went to the Museum of Lancashire, where we learned all about battle tactics and trench warfare.
The children in Lions have being trying on uniforms from 1914 - 1918
Some of our adventures so far this term.
Katheryn and Ralf from CBeebies came in to talk to Sharks Class this week. We talked about recycling and came up with lots of creative ideas for making new things from old objects. Miss Marshall then let us try out one of our ideas back in class… Straw & String Jewellery!
Leopards class enjoyed a fantastic school trip to Bolton Abbey yesterday. We looked around the Priory, Memorial fountain and had a lovely (drizzly) walk. On the way back, we stopped at Billy Bobs Parlour where we devoured some rather delicious ice cream and let off some steam playing in the barn.
Key Stage One had a wonderful time taking part in sports day. All the children tried very hard in their races. Thank you to everyone who came to support the children.
The Dolphins class enjoyed their trip to TESCO on Wednesday morning. The children especially enjoyed looking at the fresh fish and learning how to bake bread.
